Kanpur city. To keep the city's traffic system smooth, safe and orderly, Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Ravindra Kumar inspected the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) and Green Corridor Cell on Monday. During this, he took stock of the real time traffic monitoring system running at major traffic points of the city through CCTV cameras and various monitoring systems.
DCP Traffic instructed the policemen posted at ICCC to keep special vigil at the places with traffic pressure. On receiving information about jam or traffic related problem at any place, the concerned traffic personnel should be sent for immediate action, so that the traffic operation is not affected. He instructed the employees to work with alertness and promptness and to ensure prompt action on the information received.
Clear path for ambulance is given priority.
During the inspection, the DCP also observed the functioning of the Green Corridor Cell. He said that effective coordination between the traffic police and local police is necessary for quick and uninterrupted movement of ambulances and other patient vehicles that take serious patients to the hospital.
He instructed the personnel deployed in the Green Corridor Cell to follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in letter and spirit. He said that it is the highest responsibility of the police to give priority to the safety and life saving services of the common people. No carelessness should be taken in the operation of the Green Corridor and if necessary, immediate coordination should be done with the concerned police force.
The DCP laid special emphasis on continuous monitoring of traffic through ICCC and maintaining coordination between the concerned teams. Engineer Rahul Sabharwal and ICCC police in-charge Rajeev Kumar and concerned employees were present during the inspection.
