Justin Baldoni and Gina Rodriguez share emotional reunion

Justin Baldoni and Gina Rodriguez have given Jane the Virgin fans an emotional reason to smile after reuniting on the set of Rodriguez’s upcoming directorial debut, House of Guerrero.

Baldoni shared a heartfelt video from the set showing the moment he and his former co-star saw each other again. The pair appeared visibly emotional before embracing in a warm hug, creating a touching reunion that quickly resonated with fans who remember their years together on Jane the Virgin.

The reunion also carries added significance following a difficult period in Baldoni’s life. The actor and director spent years embroiled in a highly publicized legal dispute with Blake Lively surrounding It Ends With Us. The dispute was ultimately settled in May 2026.

During the legal saga, Rodriguez publicly showed her support for Baldoni. In July, after Baldoni and his wife, Emily, shared an emotional video discussing the toll the legal battle had taken on them, Rodriguez commented, “Love you friends. Por vida,” expressing her continued friendship and support.

Now, just months later, the longtime friends are beginning a new professional chapter together.

Rodriguez and Baldoni became fan favorites through Jane the Virgin, which ran from 2014 to 2019. Rodriguez starred as Jane Villanueva, while Baldoni portrayed Rafael Solano, Jane’s longtime love interest. Their characters’ complicated romance became one of the defining storylines of the series, while their friendship continued after the show came to an end.

Rodriguez is now stepping behind the camera for House of Guerrero, her theatrical directorial debut. She is also starring in and producing the boxing drama, which is based on an original story she developed with screenwriter Bernardo Cubría.

Baldoni and his producing partner Andrew Calof are producing the film through Wayfarer Studios. The movie follows a young boxer whose promising career is cut short before he gets another opportunity to return to the ring and fight for the life he thought he had lost.

Baldoni marked the first day of production by sharing the reunion video with his followers, writing, “Hey Director @hereisgina. Day 1 🥊,” before adding, “God is good.”

For longtime Jane the Virgin viewers, however, it was the emotional embrace that stole the moment. Seeing two beloved faces from the series reconnect years after the show ended brought back memories of their time together and highlighted the enduring friendship between the former co-stars.

After a challenging chapter, Baldoni and Rodriguez’s reunion represents something much simpler: two longtime friends coming together to support one another and begin a new creative journey.

For fans, the heartfelt moment offered a reminder that some friendships can endure long after the cameras stop rolling.
