Deafening slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ shook Muslim majority country, Bangladeshi Hindus announced all-out war
The biggest and most stressful news of this time is coming from the Muslim-majority neighboring country Bangladesh. The streets of the capital Dhaka are suddenly filled with thousands of Hindu protesters and people with burning torches. With deafening slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and flaming torches in their hands, the minority Hindu community has opened a huge front against the present Bangladesh government.
The anger that arose after the alleged gross insult to the sacred image of Sanatan Dharma’s revered Lord Ram and the forced stoppage of the project of a huge statue of his is no longer subsiding. Within no time, this anger has taken the form of a huge nationwide movement, due to which the government has become helpless.
80% work completed and then… Shadow of bulldozer looms over 81 feet high Ram idol!
This entire huge controversy started from Palashbari area of North Gaibandha district. A historic and massive 81-foot tall statue of Lord Rama was being constructed there as part of an extremely grand temple complex. The estimated cost of this entire project is around 22 crore Bangladeshi Taka (about Rs 15.6 crore), which includes making huge statues of Lord Krishna and Shiva apart from Lord Ram.
About 80 percent of the work on this historical statue had been completed successfully, but then some radical Islamic groups and a local preacher made a terrible threat to demolish the statue directly with a ‘bulldozer’. Temple Committee Chairman Haridas Chandra Das tearfully told the media that they are very scared at this time and due to the fear of fundamentalists, they had to stop the work of the idol midway.
Shoe on the picture and burning torches at Shahbagh intersection: 72 hour ultimatum!
The suspense and anger in this matter reached sky high when it was sensationally claimed that during a demonstration earlier this month, a fundamentalist Islamic mob openly insulted the holy image of Lord Ram by placing a shoe on it. The fire of this grave insult was directly visible on the streets of Dhaka on Friday.
On a big call by the leading organization ‘Hindu Mahajot’ and students, thousands of people surrounded the main Shahbagh intersection of Dhaka from all sides and took out a huge torch march till the National Press Club. The protesters have directly given a tough 72-hour ultimatum to the newly elected government of Prime Minister Tariq Rahman. Hindus say that if the accused are not arrested immediately, they will not keep quiet and will further intensify the movement.
‘Ram temple will be built in all 64 districts’… the biggest counterattack of Hindus so far
Hindu organizations of Bangladesh have now made up their mind to fight all out against the continuous attacks on minorities. Hindu Mahajot has given an open and direct warning to the Bangladesh Government that if permission is not given to resume the construction work of Lord Ram’s idol in Palashbari immediately, they will not be limited to legal battles only. In retaliation, they will start building grand Ram temples one by one in all the 64 districts of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, minor clashes have also been reported between police and Hindus after police tried to stop Hindu protesters in Rangpur area, making the atmosphere across the country more sensitive and tense. The eyes of the whole world are now fixed on the next 72 hours of Bangladesh.
