Delhi 4 Multi Storey Building Tilts In Gandhi Nagar: After the collapse of a 5 storey building in Delhi's Satya Niketan, now a 4 storey building in Gandhi Nagar has tilted to one side. Before any untoward incident could happen, Delhi Police and Delhi MCD arrived and evacuated people from the building. The area has been cordoned off due to security reasons. While people have been stopped from going near the building.

The official said that a team of Delhi Municipal Corporation also reached the spot and took stock of the condition of the building. No one has been allowed inside the building and the situation is being closely monitored to ensure the safety of people living nearby.

Let us inform that after the accident in Satya Niketan, the corporation is taking action against dangerous buildings, illegal construction and those violating building rules. On Saturday, the corporation took demolition action on 33 buildings as part of a special campaign conducted in all 12 zones. Along with sealing five properties, show cause notices were issued to 29 property owners. On Saturday, major action was taken against dangerous buildings in Nehru Vihar and Gandhi Vihar of North Zone. Since the accident, 157 buildings have been demolished across Delhi.

200 PG buildings need repairs

Meanwhile, Delhi MCD i.e. Delhi Municipal Corporation had surveyed about 2251 PGs till Saturday. About 47 thousand people are living in them. According to corporation officials, about 200 of these PGs have been found to be in need of repair. Their owners have been given notice and instructed to make repairs as soon as possible.
