Police have arrested his former colleague and her husband in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Adani Realty employee Yuvraj Singh Manchanda, who went missing from Lajpat Nagar in south-east Delhi.
According to police, Yuvraj was allegedly shot inside the car by his former colleague Anya Vats and her husband Sanyam Sachdeva. After this the body was thrown in a drain near Gurugram. Police have arrested both the accused from Kainchi Dham area of Uttarakhand.
Had lunch with sister in restaurant
According to the police, Yuvraj Singh Manchanda was having lunch with his sister at the Golden Dragon restaurant located in K Block of Lajpat Nagar on 6 September. His sister is a doctor in Faridabad. At around 4 pm a call came on Yuvraj's mobile.
After talking on the phone he suddenly left the restaurant. He had told his sister that he had to go to Gurugram for an important meeting and he would return home by around 10 pm.
But Yuvraj did not reach home till night. When the family tried to contact him, his mobile phone was found switched off. After this the family started searching for him. When there was no trace of Yuvraj for three-four days, his sister lodged a complaint at Lajpat Nagar Police Station on 11 September. On the basis of this, the police registered an FIR and started investigation.
The secret of murder revealed from the last call
During the investigation, the police scrutinized the call details of Yuvraj's mobile phone. It was revealed that shortly before leaving the restaurant, the last call to Yuvraj was made by his former colleague Anya Vats. The family also told the police that Anya had allegedly been harassing Yuvraj by calling him repeatedly for a long time.
Police tried to trace the mobile phones of Yuvraj and Anya, but both their phones were found switched off. After this the police examined the CCTV footage of the restaurant and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, on September 10, the police got information about an unknown body being found in a drain in Sector 70 of Gurugram. The police showed photographs of the dead body to Yuvraj's family. The family identified the body as that of Yuvraj.
matter of dispute regarding job and money
According to the police, Yuvraj and Anya earlier worked in the same company. Both were reportedly fired from their jobs in the year 2022 after allegations related to financial mismanagement. Yuvraj's family alleges that Anya had a role in his losing his job. Later Yuvraj got another job, but Anya could not get the job.
Police investigation also revealed that there was some financial dispute between the two. The family alleged that after losing her job, Anya would allegedly call Yuvraj continuously and have arguments with him. The police is now investigating all these aspects.
According to the police, on September 6, Anya had called Yuvraj and asked him to meet. It is alleged that after the meeting, Anya and her husband Sanyam took Yuvraj in their car. Yuvraj was allegedly shot twice inside the car. After this his body was kept in the car for several hours.
According to the police officer, the accused couple kept the body in the car for about five to six hours and then threw it in a drain near their house in Gurugram in the early hours. After this both of them left for Uttarakhand.

Police traced the location of an active mobile number of Anya, after which the team reached Uttarakhand and arrested both of them from Kainchi Dham area. According to the police, the accused couple also has a one year old child. Both were produced in the court, from where they were sent to police custody for five days. The police are now investigating the entire incident including the reason for the murder, financial dispute and the weapon used in the crime.
