New initiative of Delhi government: ‘Public hearing camp’ to solve ration card problems
In an important initiative, the Food and Supplies Department of Delhi Government has decided to start ‘Public Hearing Camp’ in all the district offices. The aim of these camps is to provide quick solutions to ration card related problems. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has given instructions in this regard that all matters related to ration cards should be given priority and public problems should be resolved as soon as possible. Through the camps, citizens will be able to get direct assistance from the authorities, which will help in resolving issues like any type of mistake in ration card, problem in renewal, or distribution.
From 2nd May every Saturday from 9 am to 11 am
Under the guidance of Delhi Food and Supplies Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Delhi Government has taken another important step and started ‘Public Hearing Camp’. These camps will be organized in all the district offices of Delhi from May 2. An official statement issued on Thursday informed that these camps will be organized every Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. This initiative will provide a unique opportunity to Delhiites to get solutions to their ration card related problems. Through this special platform, citizens will be able to directly convey their complaints to the authorities, which include problems related to ration card issuance, card correction, eligibility determination and ration distribution. The aim of the camp is to provide quick and effective solutions to the citizens, so that the problems related to ration card can be resolved quickly.
Instructions to give priority to ration card related matters
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has directed to give priority to all ration card related cases, especially those cases where citizens are alleging that their ration cards have been wrongly withheld. In an official statement issued on Thursday, the Chief Minister clearly said that prompt action will be taken in all such cases. Citizens have been advised that if their ration card has been stopped due to any reason, they can immediately apply to the ‘Jan Sunya Shivirs’ and get solutions to their problems.

The official statement said the move is citizen-centric and aimed at further strengthening the public distribution system through prompt and transparent action. The statement also said that residents who are facing any problem related to ration card can visit their nearest district office during the scheduled time. These camps will be organized every Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, where citizens can submit their complaints and get on-the-spot assistance from departmental officials. In this, problems related to ration card issuance, correction, eligibility determination, and ration distribution will be solved.
Eligible families will not be deprived
Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has called it an important step, which will bridge the gap between citizens and government services. He said, “We are trying to win the trust of citizens by taking the grievance redressal facility directly to their doorstep.” Minister Sirsa also clarified that no eligible family will be deprived of their entitled benefits under the Public Distribution System (PDS). He said that this initiative will give citizens an opportunity to get solutions to their ration card related problems directly from the authorities, so that no one is deprived of government assistance. Appealing to the citizens, he said, “We urge all eligible citizens to actively participate in these camps and experience the speed and efficiency of our accountable administration.”
Special teams were prepared
To make this initiative a success, the department has formed special teams, which have been trained for immediate verification and resolution. The objective of these special teams is to provide immediate resolution to the complaints of citizens, an official statement said. The department has also ensured that complaints received will be digitally tracked for follow-up, thereby bringing transparency in the process and providing regular updates to citizens on their issues. This system will enhance accountability and build lasting public trust in government services. This step of the department will ensure that no complaint remains pending and all cases are resolved expeditiously.
