Delhi High Court orders Delhi Police to delete the video of Arvind Kejriwal cross-examining the judge.

New Delhi, 15 April. Delhi High Court has ordered Delhi Police to delete the video of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in which he is seen cross-examining the judge in the court. This information has been given in a report of the website ‘Bar and Bench’.

You‘Leaders shared videos

In fact, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Kejriwal had cross-examined Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma for more than an hour in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday. Many AAP leaders later shared the video recording of the court proceedings on social media. The High Court has ordered Delhi Police to delete this video.

The report quoted a Delhi High Court official as confirming that recording court proceedings illegally is not allowed. Video recording and publishing of court proceedings is prohibited in the rules of Delhi High Court.

Such action has been taken earlier also

Quoting the officer, it has been said that action is being taken against ‘those who have recorded the video and shared it on social media’. Delhi High Court has taken similar steps in the past also. Kejriwal’s video is also one of those videos of which the court has taken cognizance.

The official said, ‘We have taken steps. This (Kejriwal’s video) is one of those videos. We have taken such action in the past also, whenever such cases come to our notice, we ask law enforcement agencies to take action.

Kejriwal appealed to the judge to recuse from the case during cross-examination.

It is noteworthy that Arvind Kejriwal appeared in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday (April 14). He himself expressed his apprehensions on Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma while presenting arguments for more than an hour. He appealed to the judge to recuse from the case. During this, she even told the judge that she went to the program of Advocate Parishad (organization associated with RSAS) four times. After the hearing was over, many senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders shared the recording of the proceedings on social media. Some social media users also made memes on the question and answer between the judge and Kejriwal.

This is the whole controversy

On February 27, the lower court had acquitted Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and 21 others in the case related to the alleged liquor scam and reprimanded the CBI, saying that its case had completely failed judicial investigation and proved to be completely baseless. Later, the decision of the trial court was challenged by the CBI in the Delhi High Court, which is being heard by the bench of Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma.

Arvind Kejriwal wants this case to be sent to some other judge. He had written a letter to the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court for this. But after their refusal, he approached the Supreme Court and also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. During the hearing on this petition, Kejriwal himself presented his side.
