Delhi Mayor Election Result: BJP’s new mayor of Delhi, Congress candidate Zaheer lost by a big margin.

New Delhi. Senior BJP councilor Pravesh Wahi has been elected as the new Mayor of Delhi on Wednesday. He defeated Congress candidate Zaheer by a large margin in the mayoral election. A total of 165 MPs, MLAs and councilors voted in this election. All the votes cast were found to be valid. Pravesh Wahi received a total of 156 votes. Whereas, Congress candidate Zaheer got only nine votes. Thus, Pravesh Wahi defeated Zaheer by a huge margin of 147 votes. This is an important political victory for BJP.

BJP’s Monica Pant elected to the post of Deputy Mayor

Voting was not conducted in the election for the post of Deputy Mayor. Congress accepted the votes polled in the election for the post of mayor. In this way, Monica Pant of BJP was elected to the post of Deputy Mayor.
