Delhi Metro News Today: In view of the proposed Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in Delhi on October 10, 2026, important changes have been made for passengers using metro services. According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the entry and exit gates of 57 metro stations will remain closed from 9 pm on October 9 till further orders. At the same time, two stations of Namo Bharat will also remain closed till the stipulated time.

Gates of 57 Delhi Metro stations closed, know the time

According to DMRC's service update, passengers will not be able to enter or exit from the road at the affected stations. These include major stations like Rajiv Chowk, Kashmiri Gate, New Delhi, Central Secretariat, Delhi Gate, ITO, Jama Masjid, Janpath, Khan Market, Lajpat Nagar, Mandi House, Supreme Court, Indraprastha, Sarai Kale Khan-Nizamuddin, Maujpur-Babarpur, Jafrabad, Jamia Millia Islamia, Okhla Vihar and Shivaji Stadium.

However, most interchange stations will allow passengers to change from one metro line to another. Interchange facility at New Delhi Metro station will also remain closed.

Security tightened in Delhi regarding CJP's protest

In view of the proposed protest on October 10, Delhi Police has tightened security arrangements. According to the information given, special surveillance is being maintained on Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place and the areas around the Election Commission. Information has also been given that the demonstration is not allowed and prohibitory orders have been imposed under Section 163 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

According to the report, about 21 thousand paramilitary forces have been deployed for security and about 1,000 additional CCTV cameras have been installed around Jantar Mantar.

Namo Bharat's Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar stations closed

Due to the protest, Namo Bharat's Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar stations will remain closed from 9 pm on October 9 to 10 pm on October 10. However, train services between Anand Vihar (Delhi) and Modipuram (Uttar Pradesh) will continue to run as per schedule.
