Delhi-NCR Weather: Rain becomes a disaster in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram, big warning from Meteorological Department for the next 12 hours

New Delhi: The continuous torrential rains in Delhi-NCR have badly affected life. The rains that started on Wednesday night continued till Thursday morning, causing waterlogging in many areas of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram. People had to face problems for hours due to long traffic jams on the roads. In view of the situation, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alert in all the districts of Delhi and orange alert in many surrounding districts.

Big warning regarding next 12 hours

Weather experts say that the next 12 hours can be very important for Delhi-NCR. It is expected that heavy rain will continue intermittently throughout the day. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain especially in Noida, Ghaziabad, East and North-East Delhi. People have been advised to step out of the house only when necessary.

Most affected in these areas

Due to continuous rains, there is waterlogging in many parts of Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and East Delhi. Vehicles were seen crawling due to waterlogging on many major roads. In Gurugram, many areas including the service lane of Delhi-Jaipur Highway, Narsinghpur, Basai, Kadipur, Sohna Road, Sector-31, Sector-39 and Pataudi Road were flooded. Many vehicles stopped midway, due to which people were stuck in traffic for hours.

Administration on alert mode

To deal with waterlogging, teams of Municipal Corporation, GMDA, police and other agencies have been deployed in the affected areas. Many private companies have also advised their employees to work from home so that the problem of traffic and water logging can be avoided.

IMD issued red alert

According to the Meteorological Department, red alert has been issued in all the districts of Delhi, while orange alert is in force in Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurugram and Meerut. The department has predicted rain to continue for the next few days. People have been appealed to keep an eye on official weather updates and avoid going to waterlogged areas.

Due to continuous rains, normal life is affected in Delhi-NCR. In such a situation, giving priority to safety, it would be best to avoid unnecessary travel and follow the advice of the administration.
