Delhi Police Registers FIR In Pellet Gun Complaint After Rahul Gandhi's Dharna Outside Police Station

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday registered an FIR in the pellet gun complaint case after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi staged a dharna outside the Parliament Street Police Station. The FIR has been registered against unidentified persons following a complaint related to alleged pellet injuries during the July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar.

Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other party leaders, reached the police station with 19-year-old Sahil Lochab, who claimed he suffered pellet injuries during the protest. The Congress leaders demanded that the police register a case and investigate the matter.

Rahul Gandhi Refuses to Leave Without FIR

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi sat on a protest outside the police station and said he would not leave until an FIR was registered. He alleged that the victim had suffered serious injuries and questioned why authorities were delaying legal action.

Rahul claimed that Sahil Lochab was injured after pellet guns were allegedly used during a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20. He also alleged that police officials told them they could not register the FIR due to “orders from the top”.

After his complaint was not accepted at another police station, Rahul Gandhi reached Parliament Street Police Station and met Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi district) Sachin Sharma.

Pellet Victim Claims Vision Loss

Sahil Lochab, who accompanied Rahul Gandhi, alleged that pellet injuries affected his eyesight. He said he was admitted to Lady Hardinge Medical College and later referred to AIIMS, where he underwent surgery.

“My vision in one eye is still not clear,” Lochab said, adding that he had submitted a written complaint earlier but the FIR had not been registered.
