Delhi Weather Update: ‘Orange alert’ of rain with thunderstorm in Delhi-NCR today, know when the monsoon will enter.

People living in the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas (Delhi-NCR) are expected to get respite from the humid heat today. According to the latest forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the sky will remain partly cloudy throughout the day in Delhi on Thursday, June 25. Along with this, there is a strong possibility of sporadic rain along with strong thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening. Let us tell you that this estimate has come after the strong dust storm and winds that hit many parts of Delhi on Wednesday evening. In view of this sudden change in the weather, IMD has issued Orange Alert for Delhi-NCR and has warned of thunderstorms and lightning in the next few hours. This time there was 18% less clouds in Delhi; The wait for monsoon continues Even though intermittent pre-monsoon activities have been going on in Delhi and its satellite cities (Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad) for the last few days, the capital is still eagerly waiting for the main showers of South-West Monsoon. This year the monsoon is running behind schedule. According to official data, only 39.6 mm rainfall has been recorded in Delhi so far in the month of June, whereas normally 48.3 mm rainfall should have been received by this period. This means that this time till now there has been about 18 percent less rainfall than normal. Why did the monsoon get stuck? Know the logic of meteorologists: According to meteorologists, the main geographical reason behind the delay in monsoon in North-West India this year is the absence of a strong and favorable low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. Usually, this weather system pushes moisture-laden monsoon winds towards north-west India. However, weather experts have given relief news that a new effective weather system is developing in the Bay of Bengal around June 25-26. With its activation, the speed of monsoon will increase and there is every possibility of monsoon reaching Delhi in the first week of July. The temperature will remain normal, but the ‘feel like’ temperature will cross 45°C. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the formation of thunderstorm clouds on Thursday, the maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to be between 38°C to 40°C and the minimum temperature is expected to be between 23°C to 25°C. The weather remains quite pleasant due to cold winds in the morning. Heat index hit: Earlier on Wednesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung Meteorological Center in Delhi. But due to heavy humidity in the air, the heat index i.e. "actual felt temperature" It had reached 45.8 degrees Celsius, which made people suffer from the sticky heat. Today the wind speed is expected to be generally 10 to 15 kilometers per hour throughout the day. Delhi’s air improves, AQI reaches ‘moderate’ category. Amidst the heat and storm, there is a good news on the environmental front for the people of Delhi. According to the air quality bulletin issued by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s air quality was recorded in the ‘moderate’ category on Wednesday evening. Pollution particles have been cleared due to strong winds, due to which the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of the capital was recorded at 127, which is quite satisfactory for breathing.
