Demand for upper caste commission intensifies, BJP MPs meet many Union ministers

Demand to form a Central Commission for the upper castes on the lines of SC-ST and OBC Commission, emphasis on reservation system for the economically weaker upper castes.

Knews desk- The demand for formation of upper caste commission before the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections has increased the political stir. Some MPs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have raised the demand of the Central Government to form a separate Central Commission for the upper castes. MPs have also met many senior Union ministers regarding this issue.

However, the names of the BJP MPs who met the Union Ministers regarding the demand of the Commission have not been revealed yet.

There are still a few months left for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, but political activities have intensified. In such a situation, the demand of the upper caste commission is also being linked to the upcoming elections. It is believed that this issue is being raised to remove resentment among a section of the upper caste society.

BJP MPs argue that separate commissions exist for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) in the country. In such a situation, a commission should be formed at the central level for the upper caste community also.

Demand for reservation for poor and economically backward upper castes

MPs say that even in the upper caste community, there are a large number of people who are economically weak and backward. The upper caste commission is necessary to protect the interests of such people.

Their demand is that the system of providing reservation benefits to the economically backward upper castes should be made more effective. The MPs also say that a commission should be formed at the central level to remove the long-standing alleged injustice done to the upper caste community.

Question raised by giving example of Bihar

BJP MPs have also given the example of Bihar in support of the demand of the upper caste commission. His argument is that when the upper caste commission has been formed in Bihar, then why cannot such a commission be formed at the central level for the entire country?

Some BJP MPs have also met Union Minister and former BJP national president JP Nadda regarding this demand.

At the same time, before this, All India Kshatriya Welfare Council has also raised the demand of formation of upper caste commission before the President. In such a situation, this issue can become a big topic of political debate in the coming days before the UP elections.
