Noida/Lucknow, Read: UP STF is continuously taking action against the solver gang and hackers who are playing with the sanctity of the examinations of Uttar Pradesh. Under this, STF has got another big success. STF has arrested Arun Kumar Yadav alias 'Devil', a vicious hacker who rigged the Staff Selection Commission's GD Constable online examination through proxy server, from Delhi on 22 September. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order/STF) Amitabh Yash said that the accused was arrested on September 22 after a siege from Shahbad Dairy in Delhi. Many high-tech electronic devices used to crack online examinations have also been recovered from him.
He told that our team was searching for a long time for Arun Kumar Yadav alias Devil, the main operator of the network that rigged the SSC GD Constable online examination through proxy servers. On the precise input of the surveillance and intelligence wing of UP STF, he has been arrested from Shahbad Dairy area of Delhi. A huge quantity of electronic gadgets, routers, modems and coding tools have been recovered from it, which prove that it used to hack the computers of examination centers through remote access. The search for other people associated with this network is going on, no culprit will be spared.
STF caught the devil like this
Actually, STF was receiving information about gangs involved in rigging various examinations being active and committing crimes. This is the reason why many STF teams were preparing for big action. Meanwhile, STF gets a special information, after which STF's Noida unit becomes active and on May 22, STF busted a big cheating gang during the online examination of SSC GD Constable at Balaji Digital Zone Examination Center located in Knowledge Park area of Thana, Greater Noida. At that time, 7 people including the main accused Pradeep Chauhan and hacker Amit Rana were arrested red handed with Rs 50 lakh in cash, proxy servers and many other devices. A case was also filed in this matter at Knowledge Park police station. In the investigation of this case, the fact came to light that hackers Amit Rana and Devil had decoded the source file of the server and made necessary changes for hacking, due to which it was possible to copy from the proxy server. The computers of the candidates were controlled from outside the examination centre. When STF got information regarding Devil, the name of Arun Kumar resident of Shahbad Dairy came up. After which Arun Kumar Yadav alias 'Devil' has been caught.
Had learned the game of hacking from Mukherjee Nagar
STF's interrogation revealed that 30-year-old hacker Arun Yadav alias 'Devil' is only a BA pass. Arun Kumar alias Devil told during interrogation that he is about 30 years old and has passed B.A. He has done a 1 year course in Computer Fundamentals from ITI Jahangirpuri. In the year 2019, while preparing for competitive examinations in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi, he came in contact with Manoj, resident of Darbhanga, Bihar, who was conducting the online examinations at that time. While working with him, he learned the art of screen lifting (hacking) and gradually he became adept at hacking servers. Apart from this, he also started rigging the examination by making modified TFT. In the world of hacking it became infamous by the name of Devil. Gradually, many people involved in exam rigging from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand and many states of North East India came in contact with it. During interrogation, this fact also came to light that in the year 2024, a gang involved in rigging the online examination of Nursing Staff Officer was caught in Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh. At that time, an FIR was registered in Talgaon police station, Sitapur district. Not only this, accused Arun Kumar alias Devil had provided software in the pen drive to Utkarsh, the main accused in this case, to reboot him by installing a proxy server to rig the examination. In this case also the accused Arun Kumar alias Devil was being searched.
