Devotees’ faith in Mata Vaishno Devi increased, till June more than 50 lakh devotees visited
More than 27.3 percent increase compared to last year
Jammu. The Yatra of the holy cave temple Shri Mata Vaishno Devi located in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir has achieved an important achievement this year by crossing the figure of 50 lakh devotees on June 22. This is an increase of more than 27.3 per cent compared to the 39.84 lakh visitors who visited the shrine during the same period last year, an official said on Tuesday.
A spokesperson of the Shrine Board said, around 39.84 lakh pilgrims had visited the holy shrine in the same period of 2025, while this year 50.70 lakh pilgrims have come for the yatra, which shows a significant increase of 10.86 lakh devotees. He said that the tremendous increase in the number of pilgrims is a proof of the unwavering faith and devotion towards this holy pilgrimage site of the devotees coming from India and abroad.
The continued increase in the number of pilgrims also reflects the confidence of the devotees on the arrangements made by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and the mutual cooperation of all parties involved in the management of the yatra, the spokesperson said. Under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Shrine Board has taken extensive measures to make the pilgrimage experience smooth, safe and comfortable for the devotees.
Continuous improvements in infrastructure, accommodation facilities, cleanliness, crowd management systems, health services, battery car operations, ropeway services, disaster management preparedness and digital initiatives have significantly improved pilgrim convenience and overall service delivery, he said. The spokesperson said that crossing the 50 lakh mark by this period of the year reflects the growing enthusiasm among the devotees and augurs well for the continued progress of the Yatra in the remaining months of the year.
