Apart from Dhanush and Sreeleela, About also stars Sai Pallavi and Mammootty in important roles. While Sai Pallavi is uniting with Dhanush for the second time after Possible 2 (2018) and the director after their hit collaboration in warning, Mammootty is making his comeback to Tamil cinema seven years after director Ram’s critically-acclaimed drama Peranbu (2019). Indrans, who recently witnessed a hit outing with Karuppuis also part of the team.
Details of the plot of About remain under wraps for now. But the title promo revealed a tense encounter in a rain-drenched jungle, where a group of woodcutters and labourers are threatened at gunpoint by police personnel. Dhanush’s character steps in to protect them like a saviour., triggering an intense action sequence.
The film is produced by Dhanush himself under the Wunderbar Films banner and Shraddha Agrawal of R Take Studios. Besides Sai Abhyankkar, other members of the technical team include cinematographer Ezhil Arasu, editor Kalaivanan, choreographer Sandy, and stunt director Yannick Ben.
About hits theatres on October 16 this year.
