Yash’s ‘Toxic’ finally gets new release date after multiple delays

After months of rumours and a bunch of delays the makers of Toxic have finally announced a new release date.

There’s been so much talk about the film and now it’s official more or less Starring Yash and helmed by Geetu Mohandas this action drama is now set to hit cinemas worldwide on August 26, 2026.

The announcement lands a day after the film’s official social media handles sparked a certain bit of excitement among fans with a cryptic post that said, “Got plans for tomorrow?”

That note quite quickly fuelled speculation that some huge update was about to arrive. As expected the makers have now finally okayed the film’s theatrical release date so it basically brings an end to months of uncertainty around the project.

Toxic has seen a pretty eventful release path. When the film was first announced it was said to come to theatres on April 10, 2025. Still with the big scale behind the production and a rather extensive shooting timetable the whole thing got pushed back.

With a star studded lineup featuring Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara and Huma Qureshi the films core shooting schedule apparently ran a bit past what they expected and it only actually wrapped in October 2025.

Because of that, the team decided to change the theatrical date moving it to March 19, 2026.

Just a few weeks before that release date another postponement was announced. The producers cited geopolitical frictions in the Middle East as a kind of major factor for the decision and honestly it felt like a sort of domino effect.

Since the region is so important for Indian cinema’s overseas business the team decided to sidestep a potentially impacted international rollout rather than risk the whole thing getting tangled up.

The film was later shifted to June 4, 2026 but then there was another delay because the makers kept tinkering with the project and going through refinements.
