After his death, his film Ikkis was considered to be his last film, but now director Biswajit Chatterjee has told that another film of Dharmendra is yet to be released. This film is Agniyug: The Fire, in which Dharmendra will be seen playing the role of freedom fighter Lala Lajpatrai.
Dharmendra died on 24 November last year. There were twenty-one releases after his death. Now according to the information revealed about Agniyug: The Fire, this film will be Dharmendra's last film. The release date of the film has not been announced yet.
Director Biswajit Chatterjee is going to return to the field of direction after almost 40 years. He told that Dharmendra will be introduced in the role of Lala Lajpat Rai in Agniyug: The Fire. This role was special for Dharmendra and he later showed a lot of enthusiasm about the film.
According to Biswajeet, very few people knew about the film. He told that after Dharmendra's death, he had directly reached his house. There Bobby Deol's son Aryaman Deol recognized Dharmendra after seeing a picture. In the picture, Dharmendra was seen in the same style as Lala Lajpat Rai. During that time Biswajeet had told that this would be Dharmendra's last film.
After this Bobby Deol also confirmed this. He had told that when Biswajeet approached him, he was standing outside to narrate the story of the film to his father Dharmendra. According to Bobby, Dharmendra was going to play the character of Lala Lajpat Rai in this film.
Biswajeet also told that initially Dharmendra was not ready to work in the film. He had said that he does not want to work at the moment. At that time Dharmendra did not know which character he had to play. After this Biswajeet told him that he had come to him especially for this role and apart from him he did not find anyone else suitable for this role.
When Dharmendra came to know that he had to play the role of Lala Lajpat Rai in Punjab Kesari, his interest increased. Biswajeet told him that he was a patriot and this character was suitable for him. After this, after much deliberation, Dharmendra agreed to work in the film.
After knowing about the character, Dharmendra was so excited about the film that he expressed his desire to do his own stunts without the help of a body double. This shows his interest in his role in the film.
The release date of Agniyug: The Fire has not been announced yet. Jackie Shroff is also likely to be seen in the film. Dharmendra worked in more than 300 films in his long career and is known for his roles in many popular films. Agniyug: The Fire will mark another important installment in his films.
