USS Abraham Lincoln: Distressed marines aboard the American battleship Abraham Lincoln tried to jump from the ship into the sea. Military families and US lawmakers have warned that the situation is now becoming unbearable.
According to reports, America is sending a new aircraft carrier to the Middle East. The move comes amid the controversy surrounding the USS Abraham Lincoln, which is currently deployed there due to ongoing tensions with Iran.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the USS George Washington will replace the USS Abraham Lincoln, which has been deployed for more than 250 days.
Did the sailors attempt suicide?
According to reports, there have been several incidents where sailors contemplated or attempted to jump into the sea. At least one crew member was prevented from doing so by another sailor. Now the families of those sailors have also expressed concern about suicidal thoughts among the people present on the ship. Democratic Congressman Mike Levin described the conditions of the Marines stationed on the ship as moldy showers, broken toilets, laundry that had been closed for weeks, no hot water for long periods of time and only half a cup of rice and two tortillas for food. They have neither soap, nor deodorant, nor toothpaste available.
The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, which was originally dispatched from San Diego on November 21, arrived in the Middle East in January this year. It reached there just before the US-Israeli attack on Iran on February 28.

Since then, Lincoln has been helping the US fight against Iran. According to the WSJ report, this carrier and the aircraft on it have proved to be very important in the US 'Operation Epic Fury' bombing campaign and this ship has also taken part in the US blockade of Iranian ports.
According to The Guardian, a Navy official said that based on information available to command, we have not seen any increase in suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts on board the ship. The official said the health and well-being of the sailors is given priority. The Navy also said that clean water, working ACs and healthy food options are also being delivered onboard. However, America has rejected this claim.
