Every day about two thousand patients are reaching OPD for treatment. These mostly include patients with symptoms like cold, cough, viral fever, stomach ache and malaria. Doctors have appealed to people to take special precautions during the rainy season.

Due to continuous rains, the humidity in the weather has increased, due to which the viral infection is spreading rapidly. Its direct effect is being seen in the OPD of SIMS Hospital, where a large number of patients, from children to the elderly, are coming for treatment. According to the hospital management, about two thousand patients are reaching OPD every day, out of which the number of patients suffering from viral fever, cold, cough, stomach infection and malaria is continuously increasing.
Doctors say that during the rainy season, contaminated water and unhygienic food from outside can cause many diseases. Therefore, people should avoid openly sold foods and stale food. Water should be drunk only after boiling or filtering and cleanliness should be maintained in and around the house. Doctors have advised that if there are problems like fever, persistent cough, vomiting, diarrhea or stomach pain, then instead of taking medicine without doctor’s advice, seek medical advice immediately, so that the disease does not take a serious form.
