‘Don’t want such friends…’, PM Modi had said ‘friend’, now Akhilesh replied

Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has taken a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For PM Modi, who called Akhilesh Yadav his ‘friend’ during the Parliament session, Akhilesh has said that he does not need such friends. When asked about the same question on Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be asked what kind of help I gave him. He also said that there is a need to be cautious with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) because due to fear of defeat, BJP can cross any limit.

Earlier, after a comment by SP MP Dharmendra Yadav during the special session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had described Akhilesh Yadav as his friend and said, ‘Akhilesh ji is my friend and sometimes helps me.’ Prime Minister Modi made the comment in a light-hearted tone when he thanked SP MP Dharmendra for mentioning that he belongs to the OBC (Other Backward Class) community and it is his duty to look after the interests of all.

He said only the Prime Minister could clarify what kind of help he was referring to.
