Delhi: A scary accident took place in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 on Monday, August 17. During the match between New Delhi Tigers and East Delhi Riders, umpire Dharmesh Bhardwaj was hit in the face by a fast ball. After being hit by the ball, he was taken to the hospital, where doctors examined him.
According to the report, Bhardwaj has been kept in ICU. This incident happened in the 18th over of New Delhi Tigers' innings. At that time the team was chasing the target.

Left arm spinner Ashish Meena was bowling for East Delhi Riders. On his ball, Lakshya Thareja came forward and played a strong straight drive.

Apart from this accident, if we talk about the match, East Delhi Riders registered their first win in DPL 2026 by defeating New Delhi Tigers by 36 runs.
Batting first, East Delhi scored 192 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Mayank Rawat scored 40 runs on 23 balls.
