Farmers will get fertilizer on time in Kharif-2026, special monitoring will be done on committees with less stock.

UP News: In order to provide timely fertilizers to the farmers during Kharif-2026 in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has given instructions to increase monitoring of the availability and distribution system of fertilizers. In the review meeting held in the Cooperative Department under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, it has been asked to keep a special watch on the societies with less or zero stock and ensure immediate supply of fertilizer as per the need.

According to the review, till August 12, the availability of urea in the state was recorded at 5.02 lakh metric tons and the availability of phosphatic fertilizer was recorded at 4.04 lakh LMT. So far, 10.83 lakh LMT fertilizer has been distributed sequentially in Kharif-2026. In comparison to the last Kharif season, 2.73 lakh LMT of urea and 1.70 lakh LMT of phosphate fertilizer are available in stock in sequential distribution.

There will be special review of committees with zero stock

In the meeting, instructions were given to provide adequate quantity of fertilizer at all the committees and distribution centres. Special review of the committees having zero and short stock was done and asked to make immediate supply as per the need.

Instructions have been given to nominate ADM or CDO level officer as nodal officer in every district. To ensure that farmers in flood affected areas do not face any problem in getting fertilizers, they were asked to make alternative arrangements to connect them to the nearest committee if necessary.

CDO will review daily and DM weekly

The Chief Secretary directed the CDO to review the availability and distribution of fertilizers on a daily basis and the District Magistrate on a weekly basis. He said that complaints related to overrating or unauthorized tagging of fertilizers should not be received under any circumstances.

To ensure that the farmers of flood affected areas do not face any problem in getting fertilizers, they have also been asked to make arrangements to connect them with nearby alternative committees. Adequate trucks have also been made available for transportation of fertilizer in the districts.

Control room activated for the convenience of farmers

Under the farmer-centric system of the Yogi government, special emphasis is being laid on providing timely fertilizers to the farmers along with monitoring the availability of fertilizers at the district level. For the convenience of the farmers, the Cooperative Department has also kept the control room active.
