Drug raid reveals suspected meth factory in north Delhi, woman dies after alleged balcony jump

Delhi Police has uncovered a suspected methamphetamine manufacturing and raw material storage facility in north Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar area during an operation linked to an ongoing investigation under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

According to Delhi Police, the action was carried out as part of the investigation into FIR No. 374/26 registered at Burari Police Station under Section 22 of the NDPS Act. The case is connected to the arrest of an accused identified as Frank Dashmond.

Police said a team from the Anti-Narcotics Squad (ANS) reached a residential building near MCD School in Swaroop Nagar while tracing the source of narcotics linked to the case. During the operation, a person identified as Romeo alias Sky was arrested from a flat on the third floor of the building. A search of the premises led to the recovery of approximately 30 grams of MDMA and 1.5 grams of heroin, according to officials.

Investigators subsequently extended the search to the fourth floor, where two African nationals were residing in separate flats. Police said one of the flats was occupied by a woman identified as Stella Pius. According to officials, when the police team entered the flat, she allegedly jumped from the balcony.

She was immediately taken to Burari Government Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Authorities said inquest proceedings related to the death are being conducted by Swaroop Nagar Police Station in Delhi’s Outer North district. During the operation, police recovered a key from another resident of the fourth floor, identified as Martin Aaron. The key was used to open a locked room located inside Stella Pius’s flat.

According to Delhi Police, the room contained a large quantity of chemicals, beakers, pipes, sacks and weighing machines. Investigators said the materials indicated that the premises were being used as a methamphetamine manufacturing and raw material storage facility. Officials described the recovery as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing narcotics investigation. Delhi Police said the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the North district is continuing its investigation into the NDPS case to identify additional links and determine the scale of the suspected drug manufacturing operation.

Authorities are examining the seized materials and investigating possible connections to wider narcotics distribution networks operating in and around the national capital.

Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
