Education is the most powerful weapon to end poverty and bring change in the society: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today said his government’s continuous investment in strengthening government schools, modernizing education infrastructure and training teachers has made the state the country’s leader in the field of school education.

Inaugurating ‘Vardhman Block’ built at a cost of Rs 5 crore at Government Primary School, Lohara here, the Chief Minister said that NEET, J.E.E. And the stupendous success of government school students in competitive examinations like the Punjab State Talent Search Examination shows the far-reaching impact of the government’s education reforms. He reiterated that education is the most powerful tool to end poverty and empower future generations.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the new block in the government primary school, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “This new block has been built at a cost of Rs five crore. Its entire expense has been borne by the Vardhman Textile Group, for which I wholeheartedly thank the leadership of the group. In this new block, 18 classrooms with furniture for the students and three rooms for teachers have been built.”

The Chief Minister said, “Vardhman Textile Group is making significant contribution in strengthening the educational infrastructure especially of the government schools. The group has also constructed buildings in Lohara, Gyaspura, Kasabad, Ladowal, Sekhewal and other government schools. No free facility or concession can eliminate poverty or other social evils from the state, but education is the key which can raise the standard of living of the people and take them out of the quagmire of poverty. Is.”

He said, “Due to the tireless efforts of the government, Punjab has overtaken Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi to reach the first position in primary and middle school education. The state government has raised the level of primary and middle school education, strengthened the system, introduced smart classrooms and provided advanced training to teachers. As a result of these efforts, Punjab is performing brilliantly in the field of school education and the latest data released by NITI Aayog, the premier body of the Government of India, shows that Punjab has achieved the first position in primary and middle school education. “It has secured the first position leaving behind Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi.”

The Chief Minister said, “For the last four years, the state government has focused special attention on teachers’ training, modern teaching methods and smart classrooms and today Punjab stands at the top. Earlier Kerala was at the first position, but now Punjab has achieved the number one status by a huge margin. More such efforts will be made in the times to come. Education is the light that dispels darkness and illuminates the world, hence the state government is laying special emphasis on it.”

The Chief Minister said, “Around three lakh students are studying in the government schools of Ludhiana district, where there are 16 Schools of Eminence, 11 Schools of Brilliance and 35 Schools of Happiness. Two more Schools of Eminence at Millerganj and Division No. 3, Ludhiana are ready and will be dedicated to the public soon. 146 students have appeared for the NEET exam, 33 students have appeared for the JEE Main exam, 9 students have JEE Advanced exam and 47 students have passed PSTSE exam.
