The newly elected President of District Cooperative Bank Nainital, Shri Ravindra Singh Rankuni paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister's residence on Saturday. On this occasion, Shri Rankuni informed the Chief Minister about his election and expressed his gratitude to him. Congratulating and best wishes to Shri Ravindra Singh Rankuni on becoming the newly elected President, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that cooperation is not only a medium of economic activities but is a strong basis of collective participation and self-reliance.
In a hilly state like Uttarakhand, the role of cooperative institutions becomes even more important, because through them they provide an effective medium to connect farmers, cultivators, self-help groups, youth and small entrepreneurs of remote rural areas with economic activities.
Continuous efforts to empower economically
The Chief Minister said that the priority of the state government is that the benefits of development should reach the people standing at the last end of the society. Continuous efforts are being made to strengthen the rural economy through cooperation, to provide markets to local products, to promote self-employment and to economically empower youth and women. He said that strong cooperative institutions can become the foundation stone of strong rural economy and self-reliant Uttarakhand.
Will be delivered to as many eligible people as possible
The Chief Minister said that the responsibility of District Cooperative Bank Nainital is not limited to providing banking services only, but also to participate in the economic progress of farmers, villagers and self-employed people. He expected from the newly elected Chairman that work will be done towards making the bank more transparent, accountable, modern and people-centric and the benefits of the bank's services will be extended to as many eligible people as possible.
The Chief Minister said that in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of 'Prosperity through cooperation', the state government is committed to give new impetus to the cooperative sector in Uttarakhand. Our aim is that co-operation should not be limited only to institutional system, but it should become a medium of employment, self-employment and economic empowerment in every village. He said that through collective efforts, the resolve to make Uttarakhand a self-reliant and developed state can be further strengthened.
