At the same time, experts believe that the EV market is getting a big benefit due to the availability of batteries on rent and increase in the number of charging stations.

How are EVs becoming cheaper with Battery as a Service?

Let us tell you that many companies including Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki are now working on Battery as a Service model. In this facility, the company will not charge the customer the full price of the battery while purchasing the car. For information, let us tell you that in reality the share of battery in the total price of an electric car is around 35 to 40 percent. In such a situation, removing the battery reduces the initial price of the car. In such a situation, later customers can pay rent to the companies as per their usage. In which it is seen that some companies are charging Rs 3 per kilometer and some are charging Rs 3.5 to Rs 6 per kilometer.

Benefit is also being gained from increasing charging stations

In earlier times, the biggest concern in buying an EV was the charging station, but now the charging infrastructure is increasing rapidly across the country. Due to which people are considering electric cars and scooters as more reliable purchases. Many two-wheeler companies have already started battery swapping and battery rental facility. Due to which it has become easier to travel long distances.

Sales figures are also giving a big indication

According to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), the share of electric cars in total car sales was to reach 6 percent in April 2026. Whereas in the same month last year it was seen at 3.7 percent. In such a situation, the share of electric two-wheelers is also increasing rapidly. According to the Ministry of Heavy Industries, the share of electric models in three-wheelers carrying goods has now reached 33 percent.
