Lucknow. A big step has been taken towards strengthening the power supply system in Uttar Pradesh. Tata Power has successfully commissioned the second phase of Jalpura-Khurja Transmission Project. This project is expected to strengthen the power transmission network in western UP and NCR areas.
New transmission line from Khurja to Jalpura
Under the project, a 400 KV double-circuit transmission line has been constructed, which extends over about 162 circuit kilometers from Khurja to Jalpura. Through this, the supply system in Noida and NCR and surrounding areas will be improved by connecting electricity to the larger power network.
1000 MVA capacity sub station
A 400/220 KV GIS sub-station has also been established at Jalpura. Its transformation capacity is 1,000 MVA. This substation will play an important role in taking power from the high-voltage grid and transmitting it to the 220 KV network.
The new arrangement is expected to increase the capacity of the transmission network and also improve the reliability of power supply. Electricity consumers of Western Uttar Pradesh and NCR can benefit from this.
After the commissioning of this project of Tata Power, the total transmission portfolio of the company has reached about 7,900 circuit kilometers. The project is also considered important in view of the increasing electricity needs of UP.
