This power can be fed back into the railway power system or used as per requirement. But this does not mean that the same amount of energy is recovered every time the brakes are applied. A certain amount of energy is wasted due to losses in the motor, electronics and other systems. It is estimated that at least 30% of electricity can be generated using this technology.
