New Zealand captain Tom Latham has won the toss and elected to bat first against England in the third and final Test of the series. The game will start at 03:30 pm IST.

“Looks like a reasonably dry surface, so hopefully we can make use of it first up. Three changes are confirmed as Mitch Santner, Blair Tickner, and Ben Sears join the playing XI,” Tom Latham said.

Latham also spoke about Matt Henry missing the match. “New Zealand will miss his experience, but his workload management is also important,” he added.

England skipper Ben Stokes would have batted first had he won the toss against New Zealand. He is happy to be back and is looking forward to the match.

“We would have batted first as well. It is going to be a big day for the bowlers. I am happy to be back, and we have some good memories of playing against New Zealand. It is a massive week for us. We have made four changes, with me,  Gus Atkinson, Bashir and Jamie Smith coming back to the playing XI. Ollie Robinson is out because of the team combination. We are confident of the group we have picked,” he said.
