Entry of Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid sons into ODI squad against Australia; 2 Gujarati players also included in the teams

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Under-19 Indian squad for the Australia Under-19 tour of India. Lakshya Raichandani will be the captain of 3 one-day matches and Yashvardhan Chauhan will be the captain of multi-day matches. Virender Sehwag’s son Aryaveer Sehwag and Rahul Dravid’s son Anway Dravid have also been named in the ODI squad. This match will be played in Rajkot and Ahmedabad. Gujarat’s Kavya Patel and Kush Patel in the multi-day team have also been named in the one-day team. The matches will be played on September 18, 21 and 23 (all in Rajkot). While the first multi-day match will be played in Rajkot from 27 to 30 September and the second match from 5 to 8 October will be played at the B-ground of Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

How Sehwag-Dravid’s sons got their chance

Aryavir Sehwag has got a chance in the India Under-19 team for the first time. Indian legend Virender Sehwag’s son Aryveer has been named in the squad for the ODI series against Australia in September. Right-handed batsman Aryaveer was recently seen playing big shots in Delhi Premier League 2026 for West Delhi Lions in an aggressive approach like his father. He grabbed attention with an aggressive innings of 297 runs against Meghalaya in Cooch Behar. While keeper Anvay Dravid has also got a place in the team. He has retained his place in the team after an innings of 87 runs on the tour of Sri Lanka. However, both Aryveer and Anvay were not included in the squad for the two multi-day matches against Australia.

Two players from Gujarat also got a chance

Two players from Gujarat have also been included in the U-19 match against Australia. In which Kavya Patel has got a place in ODIs. While Kush Patel’s name is in the multi-day match. Both these players play for GCA (Gujarat Cricket Association).
