European Council’s big statement amid Iran crisis, expressed solidarity with Gulf countries…

Amidst the increasing tension in the Middle East, European Council President Antonio Costa has expressed full solidarity with the Gulf countries while taking a tough stance against Iran. Costa, who arrived in Abu Dhabi before visiting UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, said that Europe stands firmly with its partner countries in the entire region.

Issuing a statement on social media platform X, he said that the objective of the European Union is to maintain regional stability and establish peace through diplomacy. Costa clearly said that Europe is a reliable partner of the Gulf countries and is ready to cooperate in case of any crisis. He also said that dialogue and diplomacy are the only path to lasting peace in the Middle East.

Let us tell you, earlier European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen had also stressed the need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He had said that the closure of this strategic sea route is a serious threat to global trade and energy supply. According to him, maintaining freedom of navigation should be the priority of the international community.

On the other hand, regional tensions increased further when US President Donald Trump announced a naval blockade on all ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. After this decision, concerns regarding global trade and oil supply have deepened. Experts believe that this situation may also affect the international economy.

After these statements of European leaders, now all eyes are on what steps are taken at the diplomatic level in the coming days and whether any concrete solution can be found to reduce tension in the region or not.
