Explosion in AC and 9 lives destroyed, fire in Vivek Vihar, 6 flats burnt

A massive fire broke out in a residential building in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar on Sunday morning. At least 9 people have died in this accident. It is being claimed that there was a sudden explosion in the AC, after which 6 flats came under its influence. Police is searching for the people killed in the accident. Rescue teams are active on the spot.

Police have said that the fire was reported at around 3:48 am in Vivek Vihar area. The fire broke out on the second, third and fourth floors of the building. The fire spread rapidly and engulfed many flats.

Fire brigade teams reached the spot and started rescue operations. 10 to 15 people were rescued, two of whom suffered minor injuries. He has been admitted to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.

 

 

Fire officials said it took more than five hours to extinguish the fire. The rescue operation inside the building was extremely difficult. So far 9 dead bodies have been recovered. Shahdara DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena said that the rescue work is still going on. Further investigation is ongoing. The reason behind the fire is being investigated.
