Facelifted Maruti Brezza Variants Explained

Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted Brezza in India at Rs 7.39 lakh, ex-showroom. The refreshed SUV comes in four trims- LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi Plus. Three powertrain options are available on the new Brezza- 1.5L naturally aspirated (K15C) petrol, 1.0L turbocharged petrol (Turbo Boosterjet), and CNG. The facelift has also gained significantly in terms of features. Here is a closer look at the four trims.

The turbo-petrol engine is available on all trims. It is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The K15C petrol engine can be had with both a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The automatic gearbox is only available on the VXi, ZXi and ZXi Plus trims. The six-speed manual- K15C combination is not available on the ZXi+. The range-topping variant also misses out on a CNG powertrain. CNG can only be had on the LXi, VXi, and ZXi trims and comes with just a manual gearbox.

A total of 10 colours are on offer on the new Brezza. These include both mono-tones and dual-tones and two new colours: Vivacious Orange and Lustrous Beige. The availability of these differ between variants. The base variant (LXi) comes only with four colour options- Silver, Red, White and Grey. On the VXi variant, Bluish Black (only on turbo variants), Orange and Beige are also available. All colours except Red are available on the ZXi and ZXi Plus trims.

LXi, the base variant, comes with steel wheels with full wheel covers, halogen projector headlamps, roof-end spoiler, painted front grille without the Chrome ornament, LED tail lamps, and body cladding that features dual-tone finish. Only mono-tone colours are available on this trim.

The cabin gets a dual-tone colour scheme. The equipment array is very basic. You get a flat-bottom steering wheel, Black trims on the dashboard, front and rear power windows with auto up/down function for driver’s side window, manual AC with rear vents, keyless entry, tilt adjustment for steering wheel, and front accessory socket.

On top of these, ‘Turbo’ variants get height adjustable driver’s seat, adjustable rear head rests, audible headlight ON reminder, gear shift indicator, manual day/night mirror, and automatic climate control. The base trim completely lacks a central touchscreen and an audio system.

It is, however, decently kitted on the safety front. It comes with seatbelt pre-tensioners and force limiter, reverse parking sensor, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, 6 airbags, high speed warning alert, seatbelt reminders, 3-point seat belt for all occupants, anti-theft security system. ISOFIX mounts, engine immobilizer, tyre repair kit with jack, and central locking. The turbo variants also get a rear defogger.

Inside, the VXi trim sees the addition of features like a 7-inch touchscreen, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, remote control app for infotainment, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, voice assistance, 4-speaker ARKAMYS audio, fabric door armrest and seat-back pockets for the front seats. Driver’s seat height adjustment is standard on this trim. Turbo variants also get reverse parking camera, and rear defogger here, is a standard offering.

This is a fairly loaded trim. It comes with dual-LED automatic projector headlamps, smoked Chrome garnish on the grille, floating LED DRLs, LED front fog lamps, roof rails, and dual-tone exterior colours.

Inside, the ZXi sees the addition of ambient lighting (single-colour), vanity lamp for co-driver, Chrome garnish for inside door handles, luggage lamp, front footwell illumination, rear parcel tray, 60:40 split rear seat, electric sunroof, MID with colour TFT display, and 6-speaker ARKAMYS audio in Turbo variants (non-turbo continues with 4 speakers).

Turbo variants come with additional safety features like tyre pressure monitoring system, blind spot warning, safe exit warning, rear cross traffic alert, and front parking sensors,

This time, Maruti Suzuki has loaded the range-topping variant with features. It comes with head up display, 360-degree camera, PM 2.5 air purifier with AQI display, wireless charging dock with active cooling, front ventilated seats, cooled and illuminated glove box, sliding front armrest with storage, auto folding ORVMs, 64-colour ambient lighting, fast charging USB at the rear, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, Alexa integration, auto-dimming inside mirror, 10.1-inch touchscreen, and connected car features.

The VXi variant comes with decent equipment levels. It has just enough to keep people comfortable inside, and can be a good choice for buyers who are extremely value-sensitive. However, the two top trims- ZXi and ZXi+ are flashier and cater to people looking for more technology in their car.
