Digital Desk, Bhopal. The Madhya Pradesh government issued three notifications on Wednesday, increasing the fares of passenger buses. However, city buses have been exempted. The fares of other passenger buses have been increased by Rs 2 per passenger per kilometer. 18 new routes for passenger vehicles have been notified in the areas adjacent to the Jabalpur city routes. Similarly, Arun Kumar Singh, Deputy Secretary of the Transport Department, has been appointed Secretary of the State Transport Authority.

The fare for ordinary passenger buses will now be Rs. 2 per passenger per kilometer or part thereof, with a minimum fare of Rs. 10. Night bus fares will be 10 percent higher than ordinary passenger buses, while deluxe non-AC buses will be 25 percent higher than ordinary passenger buses. Similarly, sleeper bus fares will be 40 percent higher than ordinary passenger bus fares, deluxe AC buses 50 percent higher, and super luxury AC coaches 75 percent higher. Additional night charges will not be levied on deluxe non-AC, sleeper, deluxe AC buses, and super luxury coaches, while no additional charges will be levied for express bus services. The Transport Commissioner will classify these buses.
18 new city bus routes in Jabalpur
The state government has determined 18 new routes for passenger vehicles such as passenger buses, rental taxis, motor cabs, maxi cabs and auto rickshaws and e-rickshaws in the areas adjoining the roads of Jabalpur city. These include: the 18 km Pipariya to Bhedaghat Dhuandhar road, the 26 km Patan bypass intersection to Bhedaghat Dhuandhar road, the 23 km railway station to Deori-Panagar road, the 28 km Tilwara Ghat to Deori-Panagar road, the 39 km Deori-Panagar to Bhedaghat Dhuandhar road, the 23 km ISBT to Barela road, the 44 km ISBT to Maneri road, the 47 km railway station to Bargi Dam road, the 43 km ISBT to Bargi Nagar road, the 48 km ISBT to Chargawan road, the 36 km railway station to Shahpura road, the 35 km railway station to Patan road, the 40 km railway station to Katangi bus stand road, the 44 km railway station to Majhauli via Damoh Naka, the 48 km railway station to Majhauli via Karaunda bypass. The 46-kilometer route from the railway station to Sihora, the 53-kilometer route from ISBT to Kundam, and the 38-kilometer route from Ranjhi to Dongaria Industrial Area. All these new routes will serve city buses serving various destinations within the city.
