This leads to long rental searches and late bookings. The Price Drop Protection feature is designed to reduce uncertainty and encourage travelers to plan early.

This feature is available on one-way and round-trip bookings for domestic and international flights. Passengers can opt for this option by clicking on Price Drop Protection while booking, which starts at Rs 229 per person for domestic flights and Rs 349 per person for international flights. Since its introduction in the trial phase, this feature has gradually gained popularity among passengers. An encouraging number of passengers opting for this option saw fare reductions on both domestic and international flights, indicating that the feature is well received by travelers who expect more certainty when booking.

Price Drop Protection gives travelers the freedom to book at their convenience, while also ensuring they are protected in the event of a fare drop. It's an easy way to provide greater flexibility and peace of mind when planning a trip.”
How much return?
The maximum refund on fare difference is Rs 2,500 per person for domestic flights and Rs 3,000 per person for international flights. This feature covers fare reduction from the time of booking up to six hours before the flight time. MakeMyTrip directly notifies the concerned passenger if the fare decreases during this period. The refund amount is credited to the original payment source used by the passenger for payment.
Price Drop Protection joins MakeMyTrip's existing flight assurance suite, which includes Zero Cancellation and Free Date Change. With this new launch, this exemption is now not limited to ticket cancellations and changes in travel dates but also covers changes in fares after booking.
