Farmers adamant on Bhopal march: More than 500 farmers broke police barricades and moved forward, movement intensified with 8 demands

Bhopal. The agitation of the United Kisan Morcha intensified on Tuesday over eight major demands, including purchasing the entire moong produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The farmers’ march from Narmadapuram to Bhopal is progressing continuously despite restrictions from the administration. Despite police barricades, more than 500 farmers left for Bhopal on foot via Mandideep via alternative routes.

Padyatra did not stop despite barricading-
The administration had put up barricades at many places on National Highway-45 to stop the farmers, but the protesting farmers crossed them and moved ahead. In view of the situation, additional police forces have been deployed from Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, Narmadapuram and Betul districts. Police are maintaining strict vigil on the entire route.

Traffic was also affected-
Due to farmers moving towards Bhopal, traffic on Obaidullaganj-Bhopal road was affected. At the same time, there is information about traffic disruption on Sultanpur route for vehicles coming from Jabalpur. Police have tightened security by placing additional barricades at toll points and in the 11 mile area.

These are the main demands of the farmers-
United Kisan Morcha has placed eight major demands before the government. These include the demand for purchasing 100 percent of moong produce at support price, ending the e-token system, legal guarantee of MSP, improving the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, banning undeclared power cuts, providing transformers on subsidy, construction of rural roads and ending the India-US trade deal.

At present, farmers are moving towards Bhopal with their demands, while the administration is continuously monitoring the movement to control it and maintain law and order.
