Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty has strongly denied a viral social media post on India’s reservation system that was falsely attributed to her, calling it “completely fabricated” and urging people not to believe or circulate the misinformation. The clarification came after a screenshot, purportedly showing an Instagram Story from the actor, spread rapidly across social media platforms and triggered widespread debate.

The fake post carried controversial remarks on caste-based reservation, including a suggestion that patients should be treated only by doctors belonging to their own caste. It also falsely claimed that “skill” could not be achieved through reservation. As the screenshot gained traction online, many users assumed it to be genuine, while others questioned its authenticity due to the absence of any official confirmation from the actor.

Responding to the controversy, Shilpa took to her official X (formerly Twitter) account to categorically reject the claims. Expressing shock over the misuse of her identity, she wrote, “I am shocked to see fake statements on reservation falsely attached to my name. This is completely fabricated, malicious garbage. Do not fall for this fake news!” Her post sought to put an end to speculation and caution the public against believing unverified content circulating online.
