Nagaram. Anger is growing among farmers and villagers regarding the incomplete six hundred meter stretch of road from Kamalapur-Vichilkha Minor to Kubhara village on the Samesi-Mohanlalganj route. On Sunday, a meeting of the Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan was held in Kubhara village. Hundreds of farmers and laborers attended the meeting. The meeting decided on a strategy for the movement regarding the road construction.
Farmers reported that due to objections from the Forest Department, the construction of the approximately six hundred meter stretch of road from Kamalapur-Vichilkha Minor to Kubhara village has been incomplete for years. Due to the unpaved road, villagers face difficulties commuting, which worsens during the rainy season. Villagers say that the completion of the road will facilitate transportation for the people of several nearby villages.
The meeting unanimously decided to submit a memorandum to the Forest Department, Public Works Department, Police Commissioner, and District Administration on August 11th, demanding the commencement of road construction. The farmers warned that if construction work did not begin within a week of submitting the memorandum, an indefinite protest would begin in Kubhara village on August 19th.
Organization officials stated that the protest would continue until road construction began. It was decided to conduct the protest peacefully and involve as many farmers and laborers as possible. Keshav Ram was entrusted with the responsibility of preparing for the protest and coordinating with relevant departments.
On this occasion, hundreds of farmers and laborers, including National Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan’s Divisional General Secretary Haripal Singh, District Vice President Ramkumar Yadav, Rampal Rajput, Kuldeep Yadav, District Secretary Arvind Kumar, Block President Dinesh Kumar, Ram Kumar Pradhan’s husband, Nanhe Ram, Rajlal, Sundar Lal, Sukhlal, Vijay Bahadur, Ghurulal, Ramkishore, were present.
