What the injured father’s son said
At the press conference, the son of the injured Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) stated that he was devastated when he learned of his father’s injuries. He added that he received four stitches on his father’s head at the hospital and had to have his hair shaved for treatment. According to the son, his father explained that some anti-social elements had joined the protest and suddenly began pelting the police with stones. They said that the situation deteriorated so rapidly that the policemen didn’t have a chance to recover.
Demand for action against those accused of violence
Furthermore, Kunjal, the daughter of a Delhi Police sub-inspector, shared her father’s condition, saying that her father was stationed at the front barricades at Jantar Mantar. Upon returning home, he would often say that the protests were no longer limited to students, and that some outsiders had also joined in. The very next day, her father was injured and hospitalized. Kunjal also said that attempts have been made to portray her father in a negative light on social media, while those accused of violence should be equally punished.

Safety Helmet Completely Broken
Seema, the wife of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Delhi Police, stated that her husband had gone to Jantar Mantar for duty on the morning of the incident. In the evening, she learned that her husband had been taken to LNJP Hospital for treatment. According to Seema, her husband told her that the crowd suddenly became violent and stones, flower pots, shoes, and slippers were thrown at the policemen. She also stated that her husband’s safety helmet was completely broken during the protest. Seema said that without the helmet, the injuries could have been even more serious.
The family appealed to the government and public representatives to listen to the voices of the policemen injured in the line of duty. They demanded that an impartial investigation be conducted into this incident and that strict legal action be taken against those responsible for the violence.
