Fierce collision between buses and cars of Amarnath pilgrims in Ramban, 18 devotees injured in the accident
Ramban/Jammu. A major road accident has come to light in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. At least 18 people have been injured in a massive collision between two buses and a car on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway here on Monday. According to information received from official sources, most of the injured include devotees going on Amarnath Yatra.
The accident happened due to brake failure
Giving detailed information about the incident, officials said that the accident took place just outside Chandrakot langar site at around 7.20 am. According to preliminary investigation and information, the brakes of a bus traveling in the convoy suddenly failed. Due to brake failure, the bus went out of control and another bus and a car running ahead also got hit by it.
The vehicles were part of the convoy of pilgrims
It is being told that all the three vehicles that crashed were part of the official convoy of Amarnath pilgrims going towards Kashmir. All three vehicles suffered extensive damage in this horrific collision.
Rescue operation and treatment of injured
Immediately after the accident, administrative and local rescue teams (rescue squad) reached the spot. Starting the relief work, all the 18 injured were immediately taken to Ramban District Hospital for treatment. Giving medical update, Medical Superintendent of Ramban District Hospital, Dr. Sudarshan Singh Katoch said that a total of 18 injured were brought to the hospital. It is a matter of relief that everyone’s condition was under control and they have been discharged from the hospital after giving first aid.
