New Delhi. In view of the FIFA World Cup Final match, the Kerala government has decided to declare holiday in all educational institutions of the state on Monday. Chief Minister V.D. According to the order issued by Chief Minister VD Satheesan, all schools and colleges including professional colleges will remain closed, because the final match will be played early on Monday.

However, the government has clarified that the already scheduled examinations will be conducted as per their schedule. The state government is expected to issue official orders in this regard soon.
Decision taken due to football final
The opposition and many others in the state had demanded the government to declare a holiday for students. Their argument was that the FIFA World Cup final would last till late night, which could make it difficult for students to go to school and college the next morning. Former Education Minister V. Sivankutty had also said that the match would end after midnight, so leave should be given keeping in mind the convenience of the students.
This decision will give time to students and educational institutions to organize themselves as per the late night schedule of the final match. However, the already scheduled examinations will be conducted as per their schedule. In the final of FIFA World Cup 2026, the title match will be played between the current champions Argentina and Spain, about which there is a lot of excitement among the football fans.
