A dispute has come to light in Aligarh regarding the ancestral property of actor Chandrachud Singh. On the complaint of actor’s brother Abhimanyu Singh, an FIR has been registered against seven people at Rorawar police station. In the complaint, allegations have been made of preparing a fake will, alleged manipulation of revenue records and attempting to take over land and ancestral mansion worth crores of rupees. Chandrachud Singh and his brother Abhimanyu Singh reached Jalalpur police post in Aligarh on Saturday and recorded their statement in the case. The family says that there was a long-running dispute over the ancestral property and now a criminal complaint has been filed on the basis of available documents and other evidence.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case and started investigation. However, the allegations made in the complaint have not yet been independently verified. The side of the people named in the case is also yet to come out during the investigation.
Property dispute related to Jalalpur Estate
According to Abhimanyu Singh, his family has been the owner of ancestral lands spread in Jalalpur, Aligarh and many surrounding villages. These properties also include the mansion of the historic Jalalpur Estate, said to be built around 1870.
The family claims that this mansion and its adjoining lands are part of their ancestral property. Abhimanyu Singh alleged that some family members and outsiders allegedly tried to claim rights over these properties by manipulating the documents.

The family also alleged that some of the land allegedly continued to be sold for years after these changes. The complaint also talks about the alleged collusion of some government employees and officials.

Claim of getting information late due to living in Mumbai
Abhimanyu Singh said that his family has been living in Mumbai for a long time. Due to being away from Aligarh, the family allegedly could not get complete information about the changes and transactions taking place in their ancestral properties in time.
According to him, later when the family came to know about the property related dispute and alleged fraud, they took legal advice and started collecting documents. The family says that evidence related to the case was being collected for some time.
Abhimanyu Singh said that the family has now engaged its legal team in the case. According to him, documents and other records related to the property are being examined.
Controversy increased after uncle’s death
According to the family, Chandrachud Singh’s uncle Ganga Singh lived in Sweden for a long time. Later he started living in the ancestral mansion of Jalalpur. Ganga Singh died in October 2025.
The family says that after his death, the dispute regarding ancestral property, mansion and trust lands increased further. After this, differences emerged among the family members regarding rights and alleged possession of the property.
Abhimanyu Singh alleged that his uncle’s family had claimed rights over the mansion and lands. Amidst this controversy, questions were raised regarding the documents related to the alleged will and revenue records.
The matter had first reached the civil court
According to Abhimanyu Singh, the family had earlier approached the civil court regarding the property dispute. There, a legal process was going on over property rights and disputes related to it.
