FIR against cricketer Shashank Singh and retired IPS father, Cook accused of assault and hostage taking
Tezzbuzz Desk- Cricketer Shashank Singh, who plays for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and his retired IPS father Shailesh Singh are embroiled in a legal dispute. An FIR has been registered against both of them in Bhopal’s Ratibad police station on charges of assault, hostage taking and forced work. The family’s driver Mishra has also been made an accused in the case. Police have started investigation based on the complaint.
Cook made serious allegations
Complainant Vipendra Singh, who worked as a cook at Shashank Singh’s house, alleged that he was hired with the promise of a monthly salary of Rs 15,000, boarding and lodging facilities and a government job. But after he started the job, he was allegedly subjected to mental torture.
Accused of snatching mobile and assault after leaving work
Vipendra Singh alleges that the environment of the house was not good and another cook already working there was also treated rudely. When he expressed his desire to quit his job, his mobile phone was taken away so that he could not contact anyone. The complaint also alleges that Shashank Singh, his father Shailesh Singh and the driver assaulted him. It has also been claimed that there were injury marks on the victim’s body.
Police started investigation
Bhopal Police says that FIR has been registered in the matter and investigation has been started. Police are recording statements of all parties and further action will be taken based on the available evidence. Officials said that despite a cricketer and former IPS officer being named in the complaint, the investigation will be conducted with complete impartiality and due process of law.
Further action will be taken after investigation
At present this matter is under investigation. Police say that further legal action will be taken only after investigating all the facts and evidence. So far, there has been no official response on this matter from Shashank Singh or his family.
