Allahabad High Court has ordered to register an FIR against Rahul Gandhi. The High Court has ordered to register a case against Rahul Gandhi. Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow Bench gave this decision on Friday in the case related to dual citizenship. The court said that the state government should either investigate on its own or refer it to the central agency, but these allegations are a matter of investigation. This case reached the High Court after being dismissed from the Raebareli Trial Court. The High Court has overturned the decision of the lower court.

What is there in the petition filed against Rahul Gandhi?
In the petition, the order of Lucknow Special MP-MLA Court of January 28, 2026 has been challenged in the High Court. In this order, the demand for registering an FIR against Rahul Gandhi was rejected. The lower court had said that it did not have the authority to decide the issue of citizenship. The petitioner has filed an FIR against Rahul Gandhi and demanded a detailed investigation. After this, the High Court had fixed April 15 as the date of hearing of the case.
What did the government lawyer say on the order of the High Court?
Regarding the order to register an FIR against Rahul Gandhi, government lawyer Vinay Kumar Shahi said that the Lucknow High Court, after looking at all the documentary evidence and after listening to both the parties, has ordered to register an FIR against Rahul Gandhi. FIR will be registered against Rahul Gandhi by tonight or tomorrow morning. It is expected that this FIR will be registered in Rae Bareli police station. After registering the FIR, the High Court has told the state government that the investigation of this case can be done by a central agency.

Defamation case hearing postponed in MP-MLA court
The hearing of the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in the MAP-MLA Court of Sultanpur district was postponed on Friday. The next hearing will be held in MP-MLA court on 22 April. The debate was to be held on Friday, but the plaintiff’s side asked for adjournment. A case is going on in the court regarding the 8 year old statement. Controversy linked to his comment on Home Minister Amit Shah. BJP leader Vijay Mishra had filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi has recorded his statement in this matter.
