Fire breaks out in Ghatampur’s Dina Market, shopkeeper burnt alive
Ghatampur. A fire broke out in three shops of Dina Market at 3:30 in the morning in Dina Market located on Dakkhana Road in Ghatampur town, the shopkeeper was burnt to death, his wife, daughter, sister-in-law, niece and nephews got burnt, the fire brigade team took out these people by using ladders, in the last five hours, five big vehicles and two small vehicles of the fire brigade were engaged in controlling the fire, initial investigation revealed. It turned out that a fire broke out in a shop due to a short circuit, within a few minutes the fire engulfed all three shops.
The five people injured in the accident were taken to the Community Health Center Ghatampur where they are undergoing treatment. At present, the goods kept in the shops were burnt to ashes, the shops belong to the brothers of the same family, there are shops on the ground floor, the families of the three brothers live on the first floor in which 15 people live, the family was sleeping when the fire broke out, the shops of the three brothers Ramkishan, Satyanarayan, and Rajjan Lal, residents of Behta Buzurg village in Dina Market. In which one shop was of grocery, the other of clothes, and the third shop was a wholesale shop of biscuits. Houses are built above the shops in Dina Market.
In which all three families live, like every day, the three brothers closed the shop on Friday night and slept on the second floor after having dinner with their respective families. On Saturday morning, when people saw smoke rising from the shops, they raised an alarm. Meanwhile, elder brother Ramkishan, 70 years old, woke up from his sleep. He saw a fire in the downstairs area, and went towards the room to tell his son. When he saw a cloud of smoke, he gasped and fell down within a short time. They were surrounded by flames and burnt to death. In the accident, Ramkishan’s wife Gomti, 65 years old, son Hari Om, 40 years old, son’s wife Shreya 35 years old and their four-month old son Shidatha also got burnt.
Ramkishan’s brother Satyanarayan’s son told that everything was burnt to ashes in the fire, told that we all were sleeping, woke up after hearing the sound and saw smoke spreading in the house, before we could understand anything, the fire reached the room, CISF and State Fire fire team took all of us out by using ladders, then our lives were saved, police and fire brigade personnel managed to bring the fire under control after 6 hours of hard work. As soon as possible, 07 vehicles were called from five fire stations and water continued to be received from Musanagar Road Municipality.
Due to which the vehicles were continuously running full of water, five big vehicles and two small vehicles were present on the spot. Ghatampur police station in-charge Inspector Manoj Singh Bhadauria said that all the people burnt in the fire are being treated by doctors in the community health center and the fire has been completely controlled. CISF Fire’s 01 fire tender from Ghatampur Power Plant also reached the spot with 04 force members and evacuated the casualty and gas cylinder by CISF force members.
