West Bengal Violence: Heavy violence suddenly broke out in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Sunday night. This incident happened just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed public meeting on Monday. According to reports, a massive clash took place between supporters of Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in front of Jagaddal police station. During this period, incidents like stone pelting, bombing and firing came to light.

It is being told that the controversy started with the tearing of flags and posters put up for the Prime Minister’s visit. BJP workers allege that TMC supporters damaged their campaign material in Jagaddal area. After this, supporters of both the parties gathered outside the police station, where first a heated argument took place and then the matter turned into a violent clash. The police had to put in a lot of effort to control the situation.

There was chaos due to bombing

Meanwhile, there is also news of a bomb being thrown at the house of BJP candidate and MLA Pawan Singh from Bhatpara assembly constituency. This attack spread panic in the area and caused damage to property. Three people were injured in the incident, who were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital.

BJP candidate Pawan Singh claimed that the dispute had started during the street meeting held a day earlier. He alleged that TMC workers led by the local councilor disrupted his programme. According to him, when he was returning after filing a complaint at the police station, he was attacked with stones and bombs. He also said that during this firing, a CISF jawan was shot in his left leg.

TMC rejected the allegations

At the same time, TMC candidate Amit Gupta rejected these allegations. He says that the clash started from Achala Bagan ward. He alleged that when TMC workers were peacefully putting up flags, persons named Guddu and Pintu Singh attacked their worker Bittu and vandalized the party office. According to Amit Gupta, when he reached the police station to complain, BJP leader Arjun Singh along with his security personnel attacked TMC workers inside the station.

Keeping in mind the rally of Prime Minister Modi, security agencies have issued an alert in the entire area. Additional paramilitary forces have been deployed in Jagaddal and Bhatpara to bring the situation under control. Police have registered the case and started investigation. At present there is tension in the area and both the parties are accusing each other of political hatred.
