Fire breaks out in multi-storey building in Karol Bagh

New Delhi. There was chaos in the area for some time due to a fire in a multi-storey building in Karol Bagh police station area on Monday. As soon as information about the incident was received, teams of Delhi Police and Fire Department immediately reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. It is a matter of relief that two students living in the PG (paying guest) operated on the upper floor of the building were taken out safely. At present there is no information about any casualty.

As per preliminary information, a small manufacturing unit of leather shoes is operating on the lower floor of the building, while a PG is running on the upper floor. Seeing smoke rising from the building after the fire, people nearby immediately informed the police and fire department. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot, secured the surrounding area and started the relief work. According to Delhi Police, five vehicles of the fire department are busy extinguishing the fire. Fire brigade personnel are making continuous efforts to control the fire so that it does not spread to other parts. Police have also made elaborate security arrangements at the spot and have advised people to maintain safe distance.

Adequate police force including senior police officers is deployed at the spot. Necessary arrangements have been made to maintain smooth traffic during relief and rescue operations. Police and fire departments are continuously monitoring the entire incident with mutual coordination. At present, the cause of the fire has not been known. Officials say that a detailed investigation will be conducted after the fire is completely controlled. Only after this can the cause of the fire and the damage caused to property be accurately assessed. Police said that the situation is under control and the entire matter is being continuously monitored.
