Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the ‘Drug-Free Youth, Developed India’ campaign. More than one crore youth from more than 28 thousand places are joining this program organized across the country. Before the Prime Minister’s address, youth from across the country took a pledge to make India drug-free. PM Modi said at the beginning of his speech that we have come together for a great resolve. All the saints, all the governors, all the Chief Ministers and public representatives, more than one crore young friends associated with 28 thousand places, congratulations for this auspicious resolve.
PM Modi said that the campaign we are seeing is for the individual, the family, the society and most importantly, the nation. Drug-free youth is essential for the resolve of a developed India. The name itself makes this resolve clear. The country has set the goal of a developed India, so the aim of this campaign is to ensure that the youth of the country are physically healthy, mentally healthy, full of confidence and stay away from harmful habits like drugs. Therefore, we all should take a pledge that the youth understand the dangers of drug addiction and stay away from it.
The event is being attended by five prominent spiritual leaders, including Pujya Amma, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Pujya Daji, Dr. Chinmaya Pandya and Swami Brahmavihariji. Chief Ministers and Governors of several states are also present. The campaign is being organised in collaboration with more than 125 spiritual organisations, schools and colleges, institutions, public organisations and industrial organisations. Senior representatives from Brahma Kumaris, ISKCON, Chinmaya Mission and Auroville are also participating.
PM Modi himself has also posted about this on social media platform X. He has written that the aim of ‘Develop India Sankalp Abhiyan for Drug Free Youth’ is to inspire our youth to stay away from drug addiction and bring about positive change in the society. This will be the beginning of a 100-week nationwide public participation campaign, in which activities will be carried out every Sunday to spread awareness and unite the society for this purpose. Youth from over 10,000 places along with MYBharat and NSS volunteers, schools, colleges, universities, youth clubs, NGOs and spiritual organizations will participate in this.
