“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking”: Trump issues stark warning amid rising tensions
Donald Trump intensified his rhetoric against Iran with a fresh warning on Truth Social, declaring that “time is running out” for Tehran amid escalating tensions surrounding the nuclear issue and security concerns in the Gulf region.
In his latest post, Trump wrote: “As for Iran, time is running out, and it’s better for them to act quickly or there will be nothing left of them.”
The statement came shortly after another strongly worded message in which Trump had posted: “For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!”
The remarks have drawn global attention as tensions continue to rise across West Asia over Iran’s nuclear programme, maritime security and the future of the Strait of Hormuz — a critical global oil shipping route. Trump’s comments are being seen as part of mounting pressure from Washington as diplomatic efforts remain uncertain.
Over recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly issued public warnings to Tehran through social media, demanding stronger commitments on nuclear restrictions and regional security issues. He had earlier stated that any agreement with Iran would only move forward if it involved what he described as a “real” commitment from Tehran.
The situation in the Gulf remains tense following continued military deployments, disputes over maritime access and fears of disruptions to international energy supplies. Iran has maintained that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to commercial shipping under its conditions, while the United States has continued military operations aimed at protecting regional shipping routes.
The sharp language used by Trump has further raised concerns among international observers about the possibility of renewed escalation in the region. Several countries, including Saudi Arabia and China, have recently called for diplomatic solutions and de-escalation efforts amid fears of wider instability affecting global oil markets and trade flows.
Iranian authorities have not immediately responded specifically to Trump’s latest statements. However, Tehran has consistently maintained that it will not negotiate under threats or military pressure.
The developments continue to keep global markets, diplomatic circles and energy traders on alert as uncertainty surrounding Iran and the Gulf region deepens.
